I bought some baby supplies :)

October 22, 2012 in beauty

NO! I’m not pregnant! In case you were wondering ;). So what the heck am I doing here? Something as simple as looking for some fabulously inexpensive beauty deals that are easy to find ANYWHERE (since I live in Uzbekistan, the part “ANYWHERE” comes in handy).

So what did I buy and what for?

Trying out some new styles for Fall.

1. “Lara Babysoft, Fresh Baby Wet Towel” for makeup removal. If I need to change my makeup during the day or in generally refresh my face, I need some wet towels. The problem here is that usually the ones made for makeup removal come in teeny-tiny packages and are relatively expensive. Well, what I wanted was a big pack of wet towels that could be good for my sensitive skin. Solution: baby wet towels! Extremely affordable, extremely sensitive for skin and huuuge packaging. It’s is a dream come true (with some provitamin B5 and vitamin E in it ;))!

Recently cleaned brushes.

2. “Johnson’s baby shampoo” for cleaning makeup brushes and hair. Lately I have been waaay to lazy when it comes to cleaning my makeup brushes, mostly because of lack of cleaning supplies. With this yummie smelling shampoo I’m determined to start a routine of cleaning them at least once a week. Since my hair is very fine and fragile, the shampoo is gonna be multi-tasking between my brushes and my hair. Let’s see how does everything turn out :).

I also bought some overly cute hair clips. Love them :)!!!

3. “Johnson’s baby oil” for hydrating dry skin and hair. I have extremely dry skin. I’ve been using baby oil for the driest parts of my skin for years. Now I’m gonna give it a go as a hair oil as well!

Are there some unusual beauty products you have been using? Make sure to write your thoughts down below :)!

My Haircare Routine

March 22, 2012 in hair

Healthy hair, happy smile :)!

A good haircare routine helps the hair to be more manageable and easier to style. That’s why I want to show you guys the products that I have been using lately to achieve that!

Firstly, I want to say that I have a complicated hair; very oily roots yet the rest of the hair is dry and damaged because of excessive dyeing. Earlier I had a white blonde hair, which was a disaster to maintain, because the roots were constantly showing. Some months ago I dyed my hair back to (more or less) its natural color, which I think actually suits me better :). I also started to take care of my hair intensively. These are the products that I use:

Before the shower

Extra Virgin Olive Oil. This might come as a surprise to some. I usually take 2-5 drops on my hands and rub it on the dry ends of my hair. I leave it in for half an hour and wash my hair. I do this once a month or whenever I find my hair very dry.

In the shower

The Body Shop Rainforest Shine Shampoo and Conditioner. I just lately switched my shampoo and conditioner and I’ve been loving the results. These bottles are a travel size set, but I’m definitely going to buy a full size version of these as well. Since I have a “combination hair” I usually have to use a clarifying shampoo and a very moisturizing conditioner. These both are from normal to dry hair and they work for me like a dream. And they really smell rainforesty :)! I can tell you that in the past few years I’ve tried soooo many different shampoos and conditioners (affordable and high end) and these are clearly the best ones so far. I checked online and I saw that they also have the Rainforest shampoos and conditioners for dyed, damaged and oily hair. I think I got to try them all out :)!

Cutrin Anti-Green Wash. A blonde hair tends to get “green” because of iron, copper and clorine that might be on the water. I use this deep cleansing shampoo once a week to avoid that.

Active Carbon Hair Treatment Oil. This is a deep conditioner that I found from a small shop nearby and it cost just a few euros. I use this product once a week and I love it. It takes the frizz away and leaves your hair smelling fantastic! The problem is that I can’t find it anywhere online! It’s like this product wouldn’t exist :/. I guess I just have to try out some other oil deep conditioners and hope for the same result.

I like to use the two previous together because the shampoo is a bit more drying than a normal one and the conditioner is a bit more moisturizing than a normal one, and well, you can do the math :).

After the shower

Schwarzkopf BC Hairtherapy Moisture Kick. This is a leave-in spray conditioner. I personally think that a good shampoo and conditioner are more important than a leave-in conditioner. Anyway, this is a nice extra to make our hair extra soft and shiny. I spray it everywhere (except the roots) on my wet hair.

Schwarzkopf BC Hairtherapy Color Save. This is a leave-in cream for colored ends. I’m letting my hair grow out and I want to cut it as few as possible. This product is great to control the split or frizzy ends so you can cut them off a bit later :).

Pantene Heat Protector. If I blow dry my hair (I usually don’t) or use a flat iron or a curler, I use this before. I have a very thin hair that tends to get a lot of electricity on it; this helps to control that, it also makes my hair more manageable while styling.

Fundamental extra

What I started to do is not to wash my hair every day! Your natural oils are the best reparation for your hair; short AND long term. Try washing your hair every other day and little by little you can see it less frizzy.

Now tell me, what is YOUR haircare routine and which products have you found the most useful?
Love,

Noora
